Context

Starting on Day 1, President Trump has promised to “carry out the largest domestic deportation operation in American history.” He has announced plans to target immigrant children, families and workers, and to, once again, separate children from their parents at the border.

Trump has also said he'll steamroll over city and local governments that have democratically-decided that protecting immigrant residents is both right and smart. Trump has said he will slash federal funding to these cities, and will use the military to replace local police.

While he chooses cruelty and chaos, we choose community. While he chooses hate, we choose love. While he chooses to separate families, remove teachers from their classrooms, and remove workers from their communities, we choose to protect all those people who make up the places we call home.

To do that, we’re building a strong and sustainable movement to defend ourselves and our neighbors. We are calling on you!

We’ve done it before. Last time he was President, Trump pushed cruel and senseless anti-immigrant policies (i.e Muslim Bans, attacks on DACA, Title 42, etc) that hurt millions of people and communities across the country.

But we didn’t let fear overwhelm us. We showed up for each other. At airports, at detention camps, at courts, at schools, in state legislatures, Congress and the White House. We showed up and pushed back against vile words and policies.

We did that because we know immigrants contribute to creating a strong and dynamic United States of America. We know that immigrant workers, families and children enrich our culture and our country.

What's needed in this moment of crisis is for us to fight together and to refuse to give in to mass detention and deportation.

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that." - Martin Luther King Jr.

We will not be silent in the face of brutality. We will be the light in the face of darkness.

URGENT: Executive Orders released Monday, April 28, escalate the Trump regime's attacks on our democratic values by targeting sanctuary cities in an effort to undermine local governments and embolden law enforcement to cooperate with ICE to disappear our immigrant neighbors with impunity.

This is not just an attack on immigrants — it is an attack on all of us who believe in human rights, local democracy, and the rule of law. It is part of a broader strategy to consolidate power, silence dissent, and dismantle the foundations of a free society.

Already, we have seen the deportation of US-born citizens, the arrest of a judge for upholding due process, the kidnapping of international students, and the imprisonment of long-time US residents in El Salvador.

The regime’s actions are designed to spread fear, break apart communities, and discourage public dissent.  However, we have a clear message for the Trump regime: We refuse to be silent as our communities are criminalized and our freedoms are eroded.

Join us on May 23rd to take action and resist this assault on our democracy. Sign the pledge and RSVP below to take action in your community.
